چکیده

Emulsion stabilisation of base layers surfaced with chip seals often proves problematic, chips punching into the and early distress. This can be aggravated by use modified binders that restricts evaporation moisture from pavement layers. The introduction new-age (nano)-modified emulsion (NME) has advantage water is chemically repelled stabilised layer, resulting in an accelerated development strength. A need was identified to evaluate early-life performance selected Cape seals, together on anionic NME-stabilised constructed materials traditionally classified as unsuitable, using archaic empirically derived tests. Three different seal surfacings unconventional were evaluated testing (APT) Model Mobile Load Simulator—3rd model (MMLS3). objectives experimental design binder performance, terms loss before orientation, deformation characteristics a hand-laid NME slurry without any cement filler. It shown used at low risk, layer containing fines exceeding 22%. selection specific reduce risks associated surfacings, which impact construction limitations. recommended elastomer-modified newly or rehabilitated layers, entrapment, needs reconsidered.

Determination of Asphalt Binder VECD Parameters Using an Accelerated Testing Procedure

Fatigue characteristics of asphalt binder have an important role in asphalt mix resistance against cracking. Viscoelastic Continuum Damage (VECD) analysis of asphalt binders has been successfully used in highway research works in order to predict fatigue behavior of hot mix asphalt (HMA). In this method an intrinsic property of the material, called damage function is obtained which is independe...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Performance Evaluation of Nano-silica Modified Bitumen

In this study, different contents of Nano-silica, 2 wt.%, 4 wt.% and 6 wt.%, have been added to bitumen to modify the physical, mechanical and rheological properties of warm mix asphalt (WMA). WMA is containing 2 wt.% of Sasobit (mixture of long-chain hydrocarbons). Various quality control tests have been carried out to characterize the modified bitumen and WMA. The rheo...
